Peace, Love & Giraffes

Chasing dreams and adventure in South Africa

Last game drive in Kruger = giraffes galore!

Before leaving Kruger, we decided  just one more game drive was in order. We went in the Crocodile Bridge gate again, really hoping to check lions and leopards off of our big five list, but unfortunately we had no luck in the cat department.

Cats aside, we still saw lots of wildlife and for this wildlife Wednesday I thought I’d give you a peak!

Well my friend, you would be right! They are SO majestic. To me, few things beat seeing a giraffe in the wild.Fotor0128232045Do you see the little greyish-brown buck behind the giraffe in the photo above? That’s a female waterbuck! Just one of the many buck that live in Kruger.Waterbuck are definitely less common than the impala below, but witnessing a baby impala nursing was a not-so-common sight that was mother nature at its finest.

When we exited the gate, we overheard a group saying they saw lion half an hour ago. Right near our gate. Dang, we literally just missed them! Its frustrating, but that’s part of the beauty of Kruger. The animals don’t hang around for all to see,  they roam free, and when you do catch a glimpse of an animal before they disappear into the bush, it usually leaves you in awe of how lucky you are.

Fortunately this was just the last game drive of the trip and not my last ever game drive! We’ll be heading back to the wonderful world of Kruger, this time with some American friends in tow, the second week of March. See you soon Kruger 🙂

First off I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question which I’d like
to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts
before writing. I’ve had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.

I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted
simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any
    suggestions or tips? Cheers!
